Inspiring the future.
Partnerships that Build the Future
We know we can’t do this work alone; New Mexico needs more high-quality child care and early learning programs, services, and resources to support local families. As a museum-based program, Brillante has unique opportunities to partner with Explora and other local museums. Our curriculum is enriched by the time we spend in museum spaces, through field trips, partner programs, and exploration. Explora and Brillante participate in the Museum Playful Learning Collaborative, alongside museums including Miami Children’s Museum, the Smithsonian, the Woodlands Children’s Museum, and Boston Children’s Museum, which all have museum-based early childhood programs as well. We also partner with other New Mexico child care and early learning programs to help support the best of what’s happening in our own community.
We believe that access to high quality education is a right for all children. And that access is granted through uplifting professionals in the field. That's why we offer training, mentorship, and professional development opportunities for educators and other early childhood professionals. We are developing our program to serve as CNM's lab school and partner with the Early Childhood Mentor Network. We often host visiting educators and other early childhood professional to provide mentorship, training, and development opportunities within our community
Our Approach
At Brillante, our philosophy is founded on respect for the agency and capabilities of young children. We offer a variety of play-based learning opportunities that are influenced by the Reggio Emilia Approach to early learning as well as evidence-based research in childhood development. We know that children bring their experience, creativity, and imagination to the process of learning about and engaging in the world around us. Our team of experienced early childhood professionals craft rich learning experiences and offer intentional environments and materials that nurture each child’s potential.
From projects like drawing and sculpting, to outdoor play, to collaborative experiments in math and science, Brillante builds a bridge between a child’s fundamental curiosity and their place in a larger community. Together, we are exploring what it means to be human
Our approach is guided by relationships. As a community-centered program, we encourage family participation in the learning process and prioritize ensuring that our programs are accessible and reflective of our wider community.
